Earlier this month my husband and I finally crossed off a 2022 house project, turned 2025 project, off our list. After we gave our front yard some curb appeal in the summer of 2022, thanks tol expecting arrival of our son made it so, I wanted to one day host a Little Free Library for our community. I adore the magic and lessons any book can bring. Not just one full of stories, but to learn a new skill set! Long before we had pinterest and Youtube I taught myself mostly from craft books, so why not incorporate all books. It doesn't stop there though! With the seeds produced from my garden, the Mind Body Soul Journals & planners, I've been able to share them as well. I plan on sharing a few other items like seedlings/start plugs of plants, dehydrated sourdough starter and holiday themed gifts because crafting and gifting is my love language! The other ways you'll have fun with your library is customization. I still have a few bells and whistles to add to our precious library and cant wait to finish, but in the meantime the books keep flowing!
I also have made an Amazon shopping list in our shoppe for you to have everything sent to your doorstep, should you want to get started ASAP: SHOP HERE
How to Become a Steward of a Little Free Library
Dreaming of spreading the joy of books in your community? Becoming a steward of a Little Free Library is a simple and fulfilling way to make that dream real. Here’s how you can get started:
Decide on a Spot |Choose a safe, accessible location—your front yard, a local park, or a school entrance are great options. Make sure you have permission if it’s not your property.
Get or Build Your Library Box | You can order a ready-made library box from littlefreelibrary.org, build your own, search on Ebay, Amazon or repurpose a weatherproof cabinet. Just be sure it’s sturdy and can handle the elements.
Register Your Library | Registering with the official Little Free Library organization gives you access to steward resources and puts your library on the worldwide map. You'll also receive a charter sign and official Library number.
Stock It with Books | Start with a mix of genres for all ages—think novels, kids' books, biographies, and more. Ask friends, neighbors, or local bookshops for donations to build your collection. You can also go to LFL website and get a huge box of books sent to you in your choice of adult or children or mix!
Be a Friendly Steward | Check on your library regularly, keep it tidy, and refresh the book selection as needed. A friendly note or a guestbook inside can add a personal touch! Not even a week went by and I already had a bunch of notes from the kindest neighbors. You'll inspire them to create one to!
Spread the Word | Let your community know! Post on neighborhood groups, social media, or put up a small sign nearby. The more people know, the more they’ll read and share. Don't forget to also download the LFL app, where you can connect with other stewards, check-in and place your's on the map for easy findings.

Don't forget to make it your own. I have a love for cozy and whimsy and I made sure that the theme was recorded in my Steward plate and in the first instagram post that I made on behalf of the installment and over all energy i wanted this library to exude.
